Flex ‘n Fling…

Then Take Time to Recover from the Agility Training!

Isn’t life exciting! As Kelly Clarkson sings, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Yes, it’s all about resilience and how we handle our life challenges. It’s about rising to an optimistic mindset when faced with those cloudy days.

I like to compare it to a workout. During a workout we are constantly pushing boundaries to build strength. For some of us the sheer effort to engage in any type of physical activity, no matter how small like a 20-minute walk, can be exceptionally challenging. It’s about the push and then the deep satisfaction we feel after the activity is completed. The pain and discomfort are gone. The accomplishment delivers dopamine, our bodies are energized and strengthened. The pain is a fleeting memory.

The past several weeks, negotiating our condo sale, arranging the bridge financing, packing, moving, a delay in the delivery of our ‘stuff’, all created challenges, BUT, I have to say they all seem like a distant memory as we sit in our new place. In Al-Anon, a phrase we live by is let go Let God. It is keeping a flexible mindset to pivot and move forward, looking beyond the problems at hand. It’s intentionally detaching love and flinging the ‘poop’ away! Like my mom used to say, “Put on your army boots and over the hill. Let’s go!”

My washed off army boots are airing and drying out in fresh air and sunshine!

Here’s to new beginnings!
